Dr. Eduardo Minozzi Costa is a Brazilian guitarist known for exceptional technical command, artistic depth, and a musical voice that moves between classical repertoire, improvisation, composition, and electric guitar expression.

Education and Formation
Dr. Costa earned the Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Arizona in 2012 after completing both his master's and doctoral studies there on full scholarship under Thomas Patterson.
Before Arizona, he completed his bachelor's degree in guitar performance at the University of Sao Paulo and studied with Edelton Gloeden, Paulo Porto Alegre, and Everton Gloeden at the Escola Municipal de Musica.
His early training at Nucleo de Arte Musical with Rafael Altro and Adilson Oliveira helped establish the technical and artistic foundation that shaped his later career.
Performance Milestones
In 2011, Dr. Costa was invited to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City, one of the defining honors of his concert career. That same year, he also earned third prize at the Guitar Foundation of America competition.
His performances have taken him to New York, Dallas, Portland, Houston, Boston, Sao Paulo, Curitiba, and Brasilia, bringing his work to audiences across the United States and Brazil.
In 2008, he received the Northern Trust/Piper Enrichment Award, which supported attendance at the Koblenz Guitar Festival in Germany, where he became the first Brazilian finalist among eighty competitors.
Leadership and Innovation
Dr. Costa served as Outreach Director in 2009 and Artistic Director in 2010 for the Tucson Guitar Society, contributing to Arizona's guitar community beyond the concert stage.
A D'Addario artist since 2010, he was also selected to record a historical CD for the University of Arizona Museum of Art Rare Guitars Exhibition, featuring instruments from the early 1900s.
In 2011, he created Pathways to Guitar Excellence, a Medici Foundation-sponsored system focused on technical and artistic growth. He continues that work today through My Practice Canvas, a multimedia platform for guided practice and interactive feedback.
